The story so far . . .
The idea of the circuit was the brainchild of Harry Reynolds. It was Harry’s vision to create a traffic free, safe environment where the club could build its next generation of champions under the guidance of a group of fully qualified British Cycling coaches belonging to the Solihull CC. Today, there are 6 such qualified coach’s in the club, ably supported by 2 qualified welfare officers and a large number of enthusiastic supporters.

layout of the circuit
The circuit is approx 850metres long, 5metres wide with a 6metres finishing straight down the middle of the top. The profile of the circuit is labelled as ‘testing’ as Tudor Grange Park slopes away towards the Norman Green Athletics centre.
The circuit is now complete and a full program of training / coaching is taking place on the circuit throughout the year |
TUDOR GRANGE CIRCUIT
2011 Sessions
Monday 6:30 - 8:30pm These sessions are aimed at adult intermediate or non-racing riders - those who want to improve their fitness and cycling skills. The wide range of abilities will be catered for by riding in groups of similar fitness.
Tuesday 6:30 - 8:30pm This is 'training for racing' and is a road-bike session only. This is physically demanding and newbies will not attend this session straight away apart from exceptional circumstances. Under 10's on these nights will normally leave the session at 8:00 as they are usually very tired by this time.
Wednesday 6:30 - 8:30pm These fast-paced 'Train to Race' sessions are aimed at Senior, Junior and invited U-16 riders only.
Thursday 5:00 - 6:15pm This is the go-ride program training for young riders and often, new riders. This is primarily the starter skills and bike fun session and may include a small race element. Any bike (in good working order) is allowed. Riders as young as 5 years old may be on this session.
Thursday 6:30 - 8:00pm This is an intermediate step between the Go-Ride session and the Tuesday night session. This is for ALL bikes. ALL under 12's who attend a Tuesday night are also recommended to do this session as well. This session is also the gating point to Tuesday nights and the the lead coach will use this session to judge the suitability of riders wishing to move to Tuesdays.
We are looking forward to seeing you all again and having some fun at the circuit.
FURTHER INFO
This year there is an application form for coaching and riding sessions at Tudor Grange Circuit organised by the Club. Fees are now being charged annually and not per session; this guarantees more coaching time from the Club coaches. It is also instead of an increase in per-session fees. A card will be issued to each user which is to be brought to the circuit each session
